The Maison — Est. 2018

Where craft
becomes devotion

SOLÈNE was born from a single belief — that a garment should feel like memory. Familiar, transformative, and entirely yours.

A story of
light and cloth

SOLÈNE began in a small studio in Paris's 11th arrondissement, where founder Solène Margaux spent three years studying the way light falls differently on every fabric — how silk holds gold differently than linen, how wool absorbs dusk.

That obsession became a philosophy: every garment we create is designed around a specific quality of light. The SS 2025 collection, L'Aube, is built around the particular pale gold of early morning.

"I don't design clothes. I design the space between a woman and the world — the light that lives there."
Solène Margaux — Founder & Creative Director

Solène studied at the École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne before spending five years at a historic Maison learning the full vocabulary of haute couture — from toile to final fitting.

She launched SOLÈNE in 2018 with twelve pieces, hand-sewn in her studio. Every season since has been an invitation — to slow down, to notice how you feel in fabric, to choose quality over volume.

How a SOLÈNE piece
comes to life

01
The Sketch
Every piece begins as a drawing — often made in the early morning, when the light is most honest. We sketch until the silhouette feels inevitable, not invented.
02
The Toile
A rough prototype in unbleached cotton. We fit it three times before touching the final fabric. Patience is not optional — it is the method.
03
The Fabric
Sourced from mills in Lyon, Como, and Oaxaca — all certified ethical. We choose by touch first, then by how each cloth responds to light at different hours.
04
The Hands
Twelve artisans pass through every finished piece. Hand-stitching, hand-finishing, hand-pressing. No automated cutting, no factory lines.
05
The Fitting
Every made-to-measure piece involves three fittings with the client. We believe clothes should move with you, not against you.
06
The Care
Each piece arrives with a hand-written care card. We offer lifetime repairs on all garments. A SOLÈNE piece is meant to outlast trends by decades.

The principles that
guide everything

Slowness is not inefficiency
We produce two collections a year. Deliberately. The fashion industry's acceleration has cost it beauty, craft, and the planet. We refuse to participate in that race.
Ethical is not a bonus feature
Every supplier is certified. Every artisan is paid well above industry standard. Every fabric is traceable from field to atelier. This is not marketing — it is non-negotiable.
Collaboration over competition
We believe the fashion world is richer when new voices enter it with support rather than barriers. Our designer submission programme exists to open that door — with fair commission and full creative credit.
Luxury means lasting
True luxury is not price — it is permanence. A SOLÈNE piece should be in your granddaughter's wardrobe. That is the standard we hold every stitch to.
